Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG based in Saal an der Donau, is a leading global manufacturer of measuring, control, and automation systems for web-shaped products. Since its founding in 1945 by Dr. Heinz Mahlo, the family-run company has been developing innovative solutions for process and quality control in industries such as textiles, nonwovens, plastics, paper, and coating. With a strong focus on precision, reliability, and Industry 4.0 compatibility, Mahlo supplies systems “Made in Germany” to over 100 countries. The integration of state-of-the-art sensor technologies and a global sales and service network underscore the company's leading position in the industry.
The stand design and trade fair concept
For Mahlo GmbH & Co. KG, the trade fair presentation focused entirely on high-precision measurement and control technology – especially for demanding anode and cathode coating. The aim was to showcase technical expertise, establish new contacts, and position the brand in a clear and structured manner.
Our strategy:
-
An open, uncluttered stand design with clear visitor guidance
-
Large-format technical images, concise text messages, and digital media elements
-
Personal consultation at eye level thanks to modular bar table areas
-
Consistent design in Mahlo's corporate design – professional, minimalist, high-quality
Right from the conception phase, we opted for a fully modular ExpoCloud stand concept. The reusability of all components not only enabled maximum flexibility for future trade fair formats, but also created a resilient basis for sustainable, resource-saving trade fair marketing – without compromising on design.

Gold for Mahlo – Better Stands Award:
The gold status award for a fully reusable, waste-free stand design is no coincidence, but rather the direct result of our ExpoCloud philosophy. This concept combines sustainability with modern design, setting new standards in the industry. This is also reflected in the results: our customers rate us as “very good,” we make a measurable contribution to CO₂ reduction, and the stand components achieve a particularly high level of reusability. In addition, we receive consistently positive feedback from trade visitors and the press. In this way, we are establishing a new standard that combines sustainability and design in an innovative way.

Implementation & impact
Together with Mahlo, we developed a holistic concept that made technology visible and tangible – digital, minimalist, and ultra-modern. The focus was on a customer-specific exhibit that perfectly complemented the presentation, as well as a large screen that impressively showcased product videos, applications, and key corporate values. This was complemented by XXL graphics with clear, striking, and informative texts that made complex content easy to understand. A uniform visual language in the Mahlo design ensured consistent brand perception and reinforced the visual identity.
The modular stand concept enabled complete reusability of all components and was precisely planned using our ExpoCloud technology, resulting in noticeable time savings, optimal cost control, and a significant contribution to CO₂ reduction.

Special features and eye-catchers of the exhibition stand
-
Customer-specific exhibit: With its significantly larger presence than the large screen, the exhibit was a central eye-catcher and provided a realistic and impressive illustration of the solutions on offer.
-
Tower top with logo and claims: Positioned high up and visible from afar, this served as a remote control element for quick orientation on the exhibition grounds.
-
Red carpet: As a deliberate contrast to the neutral exhibition floor, this served as both a visual guide and a brand statement.
-
Large screen: A central media element that communicated product videos, applications, and corporate values in a dynamic form.
-
XXL graphics at eye level: Technical images combined with textual explanations created a striking and informative product presentation.
-
Modular consultation corners: Bar tables with bar stools encouraged casual, open exchange—professional but not distant.

The exhibition graphics
The graphic design followed a clear design scheme: technical illustrations, strong color contrasts (such as the red floor), precise typographic elements, and a well-thought-out ratio of text to image. LED spotlights on the back wall provided targeted lighting accents on key content and ensured uniform, glare-free illumination. The focus was on the visual communication of complex content – supported by reduced but meaningful text blocks and a calm, objective color scheme that conveyed trust and seriousness.

Conclusion and personal impressions
From the outset, the project with Mahlo was characterized by structured, goal-oriented collaboration. The client's clear communication was particularly impressive, both in terms of content and visuals. This enabled Mahlo to develop a well-thought-out and brand-strong trade fair concept that conveyed technical content precisely and comprehensibly.
